We're looking for a Mid- to Senior-Level Geomorphologist who is inspired by stream restoration and passionate about improving stream ecology and fish passage programs. As a member of our Northwest Water Resources team, you will work with and lead a team of scientists and engineers as a part of a multidisciplinary team to assess and improve stream functions in the Puget Sound and the greater Pacific Northwest.
Your Role:
In this position, you'll work with a highly collaborative team to:
- Lead and assist with technical studies, geomorphic assessments, and designs for ecological restoration and mitigation projects
- Conduct stream field analyses (field and desktop), perform assessments of lateral and vertical channel stability, evaluate existing and future geomorphic hazards and risks, and compile findings in technical reports
- Develop post-project channel and floodplain evolution projections.
- Perform scour analyses.
- Mentor junior staff to develop skillsets related to fluvial geomorphology.
- Coordinate with clients, regulatory/resource agencies, and local governments
- Lead/assist with client management, project management, and business development
- Review and evaluate technical reports and plans of proposed projects
- Support marketing efforts and client development
You will have some or all of the below qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in geology or engineering with emphasis in fluvial geomorphology (master's degree preferred)
- Minimum of 12 years of professional experience
- Strong project management skills including the ability to manage multiple disciplines and tasks for technically complex projects
- Prior Experience as the Lead Fluvial Geomorphologist on projects; responsible for leading geomorphic assessments, analyses and projections on a variety of small and large scale river projects
- Experience performing geomorphic technical work for fish passage barrier removal and other stream restoration projects
- Sediment transport modeling and sediment collection experience
- GIS experience for geomorphic and water resources analysis
- Strong technical writing and speaking skills
- Strong work ethic and desire for team success
- Licensed Geologist or Professional Engineer in the State of Washington
- Experience providing professional services to a variety of sectors, with experience on a variety of engineering and environmental projects
- You must be collaborative, thorough, and well organized

The salary range for this position is approximately $125,000-$150,000 depending on education, qualifications, experience, and work location.
