Summary:
Tetra Tech is currently seeking a Mid-Level Hydrogeologist with experience in hydrogeology, groundwater remediation, water quality, survey and assessment, remediation of environments, and environmental data collection. We are seeking an energetic individual interested in supporting a variety of challenging projects in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will work closely with Senior Scientists and Project Managers on a variety of environmental, water resource, and remediation projects.
The position is available in the following locations: San Diego, CA, Sacramento, CA, Tucson, AZ, and Phoenix, AZ.
Your Role:
- Soil and groundwater contamination studies.
- Database management and data quality control.
- Graphical analysis and display of data.
- Providing environmental consulting services for groundwater remediation projects.
- Project management activities including drilling, Logging geology, well design, installation, and oversight. Field sampling oversight.
- Oversight of groundwater remediation systems instillation and operations.
- Routine sampling and monitoring of extraction wells.
- Troubleshooting system performance compliance and permitting.
- Support the development of project documents to support field data collection efforts.
- Provide field support and perform data and sample collection of various media to support projects. Approximately 25 - 50% of travel/field work required.
- Prepare technical reports summarizing field and laboratory findings including hydrogeological assessments, environmental impact assessments, and remediation plans.
- Perform groundwater modeling to evaluate aquifer characteristics, groundwater flow, and contaminant transport.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure project success.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- BS degree in Hydrogeology, Geology, Environmental Science, or related field required.
- 5 – 8 years of experience in environmental and remediation projects.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and ArcGIS strongly preferred.
- Familiarity working with MODFLOW, MODPATH, and MT3D in a Groundwater Vistas environment preferred.
- Current OSHA HAZWOPER certification preferred.
- Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and Power Point.
- Strong problem solving, time management, and verbal/written communication skills required.
- Ability to travel and perform field work related to environmental sampling, drilling, remediation system installation, and maintenance of remediation systems (approx. 25 - 50% of travel/field work required).
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull equipment weighing up to 50lbs.
- A pre-employment drug screen in compliance with state regulations is required.
- Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record without restrictions.
Target salary range: $80,000 to $90,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
