Tetra Tech is seeking an experienced leader to serve as our Midwest/Great Lakes Regional Stream Restoration Leadto oversee and grow Tetra Tech's Stream Restoration Consulting Practice in the Midwest/Great Lakes region.

 

This is a strategic growth opportunity to lead and assist Program Leads, Practice Leads and Operations Leads located nationally across Tetra Tech's Operations. 

 

Our Midwest/Great Lakes Regional Stream Restoration Lead will specifically lead and further advance Tetra Tech's stream restoration consulting services across multiple operational footprints across Tetra Tech.

 

The qualified candidate will have up to 10 years professional experience. Experience in restoration, macroinvertebrates, remediation, project management, and resource planning is desired.

 

Staff Responsibilities:

·         Develop and mentor staff to gain an understanding of business development, project delivery related to resource surveys and reporting, assessments and designs, environmental permitting, and project delivery/management.

·         Identify opportunities for junior and mid-level staff that complement their professional development (e.g., participating in client development or presentation activities).

·         Manage multidisciplinary technical resources within the Midwest/Great Lakes region.

·         Support Stream Restoration Program Lead with recruiting efforts in the Midwest/Great Lakes region.

·         Support Stream Restoration Program Lead with compliance with Tetra Tech processes related to business development, project management, health and safety, quality and project delivery.

·         Support Stream Restoration Program Lead with staff retention by fostering a work environment that is collaborative, values diversity, equity and inclusion which will sustain a challenging and attractive work environment.

·         Supports Stream Restoration Program Lead with internal Tetra Tech processes related to project management initiatives, contract reviews, proposal and cost reviews and project delivery services within the Midwest/Great Lakes region.

 

Program Management, Strategy and Business Development:

·         Meet with Stream Restoration Program Lead quarterly and provide weekly updates on business development, finances, project performance, and utilization for the region.

·         Work with Client Managers, Initiative Leads and Operations on strategic pursuits, including proposal and business development, as well as prospective client meetings.

·         Support Stream Restoration Program Lead with market research and analysis and collaborate with Client Managers, Program Leads, Project Managers and Regional Practice Leads to further establish Tetra Tech's Stream Restoration Practice.

·         Support Stream Restoration Program Lead with annual goal planning related to Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, Health & Safety, Quality, Staff Retention and strategic growth initiatives (diversity of services, clients, markets, operational footprint).

·         Support Stream Restoration Program Lead with key performance indicators associated with Annual Operating Plans (gross/net revenue, utilization, discretionary spending, backlog).

·         Conduct business development activities through direct client contact to capture new and follow-on work.

·         Review and respond to RFI, RFPs and RFQs.

·         Lead proposal and cost development activities.

·         Participate in strategic growth initiatives to expand Tetra Tech's client and operational footprint in the stream restoration sector.

·         Identify new service areas in response to changes in the market and service area opportunities.

·         Understand client's drivers and emerging regulations within the stream restoration sector.

 

Project Management and Execution:

·         Lead and grow the Midwest/Great Lakes stream restoration practice to support watershed assessments, stream restoration designs, construction of stream restoration projects, and as-built evaluations following implementation.

·         Serve as Senior Project Manager in the successful development and execution of stream restoration projects.

·         Serve as a technical lead to support and execute the key stages of stream restoration project development, including assessments, surveys, analyses, environmental permitting, engineering/design, and construction.

·         Manage multi-disciplinary teams to complete projects on time and on budget.

Qualifications:

·         Possess a M.S. in a related field (i.e., engineering, biology, planning, environmental studies, or a closely related discipline).

·         Exhibit 8 to 10 years of professional experience. This experience may include business development, project management, restoration project implementation, or construction.

·         5 or more years of experience in leading or managing technical staff, serving in a project management capacity, and performing senior-level responsibilities.

·         Ability to travel throughout the year.

·         In depth knowledge of stream restoration projects and methodologies. 

·         Knowledge and experience with of the regulatory frameworks of agencies in the Midwest/Great Lakes region.

·         Knowledge of software used in stream restoration projects.

·         Experience conducting stakeholder engagement meetings for stream restoration projects.

·         Ability to lead and provide subject matter expert review of assessments, analyses, and due diligence reviews of existing or planned projects on behalf of clients.

·         Demonstrated ability to meet and exceed client expectations through project management, workload planning and resource allocation.

·         Demonstrated experience in project and region financials such as project metrics related to revenue, net revenue, operating income, margin, DSO, and utilization.

·         Ability to attract, develop, and retain talented staff who deliver results.

·         Demonstrated experience in marketing and developing business to build and maintain a pipeline of work opportunities to support technical staff.

·         Creating an environment that fosters professional growth, project delivery excellence, and long-lasting relationships.

·         A pre-employment drug screen in compliance with state regulations is required.

·         Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record without restrictions.

 

Compensation:

Salary commensurate with experience.

Salary Range: $100,000 - $115,000 yr.
