About the Role
Join the NDY Digital team in Melbourne as a Communication Engineer, with opportunities to develop your career in communications, audio visual, and security design. You'll start in a dedicated team with the expectation to grow into consulting work. Under the supervision of a senior consultant.
We are seeking a technically proficient candidate with consulting experience in the construction industry, ideally from an engineering background and preferably from an engineering consultancy. The role involves working on commercial fit-outs, education, and health sector projects, with a primary focus on audio visual and communications consulting.
- Communications/ICT: Structured cabling design (copper, fibre, racking equipment), distributed antenna systems, liaison with telecommunications carriers, and WiFi modelling
- Audio Visual Design: Video conferencing systems, meeting room and collaboration spaces, audio systems, lecture theatres, and presentation spaces
- Security Design: Electronic access control systems and CCTV systems
- Supporting senior consultants' projects
- Working closely with our drafting team on project documentation
- Learning to manage project finances and resourcing hours under supervision
About You
- Good time management and work/life balance
- Strong ability to interpret client and senior leader expectations and define them technically
- Excellent record-keeping and communication tracking
- Goal-oriented, with strong deadline management
- Excellent multitasking and responsiveness to emails, messages, and calls
- An engineering degree (required)
- Prior consulting experience (minimum 1–2 years preferred)
- High motivation for professional development, with opportunities to lead projects and work within a team
- Excellent report writing and analytical skills
