Project Summary:

The goal of the USAID/OTI Moldova Resilience Initiative (MRI) is to strengthen support for a democratic, European Moldova. USAID/OTI and MSI will work with a coalition of civic, media, and government stakeholders in support of program goals. The program will operate primarily through a small grants mechanism and will rely on ongoing analysis of the local context to inform programming.

Position Summary:

The Photo and Video Team Leader will contribute to MRI's efforts to support implementation of strategic communications. The Photo and Video Team Leader will oversee the production of visual content to support MRI's communication goals and objectives. The Leader will manage a team of Photographers and Videographers, ensuring the delivery of high-quality assets that convey compelling narratives and messages. This is a short-term assignment with an expected level of effort of 109 days. The position will be based in Chisinau, Moldova.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise a team of Photographers and Videographers, providing guidance, feedback, and support as needed.
  • Coordinate scheduling, assignments, and logistics to ensure timely and efficient production of visual content.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand project requirements and allocate resources accordingly.
  • Lead photo and video shoots, directing creative concepts, compositions, and technical aspects to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Produce high-quality visual content, including event coverage, portraits, documentaries, success stories, and promotional materials.
  • Select the key fragments from the interviews for the story narrative
  • Oversee editing and post-production tasks for photos and videos, including color correction, retouching, and adding captions or overlays as necessary.
  • Ensure adherence to brand guidelines and standards in all visual assets, maintaining consistency and coherence across platforms.
  • Review and approve final deliverables to ensure alignment with communication objectives, quality standards, and stakeholder expectations.
  • Provide constructive feedback to team members to enhance their skills and improve the overall quality of output.
  • Optimize workflow processes and tools to streamline production and maximize efficiency while minimizing costs.

 

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in journalism, public administration, or another relevant field is required.
  • Minimum three years of experience working in the communications field is required.
  • Experience with USAID-funded or other international organization projects.
  • Experience in photography, videography, and visual storytelling.
  • Familiarity with USAID communications policies is preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively and harmoniously under pressure in a stressful environment and with partners from different cultural and professional backgrounds is required.
  • Ability to work and travel within Moldova is required.
  • Fluency in English and Romanian is required.
