Our office specializes in small to mid-sized projects for clients across Canada. The types of clients we work for include:

Your Role: 

We are currently seeking a Procurement Specialist, will report to the Procurement Lead and is responsible for the preparation and/or modifications of the following project procurement documents:

  • Specifications and inquiry preparation, purchasing, expediting, bid analysis, and invoice auditing for vendor supplied equipment and bulk material packages
  • Standard purchasing forms, including bid requests, material requisitions, purchase orders, logs, reports, trending, etc.

Responsibilities:

  • Support Project Engineers and Estimators in preparations of estimates by contacting vendors for “budgetary pricing” for equipment and materials
  • Implementation of purchasing strategies covering purchase orders and contracts for professional services, and other service agreements required in support of capital projects for clients
  • Expedite orders as required to ensure that vendors meet the supply and delivery requirements of the orders assigned to his/her responsibility
  • Assist the originating engineer in expediting key documents and other technical data in order to ensure that drawing exchanges do not delay scheduled equipment deliveries
  • Responsible for support and guidance to other Project Procurement Personnel, Project Managers, and other Project Engineering Disciplines, etc., on formation, implementation, and administration of purchase order and service agreement procedures
  • Ensures all contract project purchasing administration procedures are followed and executed in a professional manner
  • Responsible for assisting and advising Project Managers and Engineers with ongoing administration of contracts/purchase orders with clients and adherence to established contract procedures and requirements
  • Able to communicate with vendors, internal and external engineering resources, other company disciplines/departments and customers/clients
  • Must be able to work in a schedule-driven environment. Timing is a critical function of procurement services required for the project
  • Maintain records of all telecoms, fax and email exchanges pertaining to the expediting and project purchase orders committed
  • Maintain and regularly issue expediting and purchasing reports as required by the project
  • Assist Procurement Lead in creating both purchasing and other procurement plans and logs
  • Reviewing project schedules to ensure that all material is ordered as per schedule

Qualifications:

  • 8-13 years' experience in the purchasing and expediting functions preferred
  • University Degree in Supply Chain or technical diploma/certificate in Purchasing or related field an asset
  • Experience working in an EPC – ECPM environment is an asset
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
