Project Summary:

MSI's Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) Region has a vast portfolio of projects covering a wide range of topics in Colombia, Mexico, El Salvador, as well as DC-based projects global in scope. The LAC Region implements programs for USAID/Washington, bilateral USAID Missions throughout the LAC region, global activities for the Department of Defense, Department of State, and Department of Labor, and multiple activities for non-US government clients.

Position Summary:

The Project Manager (PM) will support Headquarters on projects in the LAC Region. The PM will be responsible for managing administrative, contractual, financial, and logistical aspects of the project. The PM will report to the Senior Project Manager (SPM). The preferred location for this role is in the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan area.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Manage project finances and approval requirements such as tracking incoming costs, projecting future expenditures, preparing financial reports, and supporting grant portfolio management.
  • Coordinate with project clients.
  • Track and ensure on-time completion of client deliverables and other tasks across multiple ongoing activities.
  • Coordinate contractual and financial matters for the project, including managing subcontractors.
  • Participate in the recruitment, selection, and onboarding of project staff and consultants.
  • Coordinate logistics and travel for Headquarters employees and short-term technical consultants.
  • Work closely with MSI project team, including the Technical Director, Technical Managers, and SPM on ensuring the timeliness and quality of required deliverables, such as evaluation reports, design proposals, and presentations.
  • Coordinate Organizational Conflict of Interest checks for proposals as well as provide business development and cost support on proposals.
  • Participate in the formatting and editing of deliverables, ensuring USAID branding and high-quality visuals are incorporated.
  • Provide technical support as required.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in international development, economics, or related field.
  • Minimum two years of work experience required.
  • Experience in recruitment is a plus.
  • Experience in multitasking, meeting urgent deadlines, and adapting to changing priorities.
  • Experience working in multi-cultural environments and building effective working relationships with clients and colleagues, including managing above as well as below.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office skills such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint required. Advanced expertise preferred.
  • Strong budgeting and financial management skills required.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish required.

Pay Transparency Statement:

We are committed to taking a thoughtful, compliant and equitable approach to employment compensation. We commit to providing a holistic comprehensive salary analysis, including reviews of individual skill sets and compensable factors related to qualifications, business needs, internal compensation data, and industry and labor market surveys. The anticipated pay range for this position is $62,000 to $69,000 USD.
