We have opportunities for Senior & Principal Geo Environmental Engineers in Wexford.      

As a consultancy of approximately 1,600  staff, we are large enough to work on high-profile schemes across the island of Ireland. We provide geo environmental site investigation services to a wide range of clients both in the public and private sector.

We are looking for Senior and Principal grade Geo Environmental engineers who have experience of projects across a diversity of sectors, with the confidence to liaise directly with both clients and stakeholders, and who have a desire to support our growing profile.  Strong general technical skills are a must, with a technical speciality highly desirable – those with experience of authoring and reviewing factual and interpretive geotechnical reports and those who hold a degree in Environmental Science, Engineering Geology are encouraged to apply.  We are keen to continue to grow the team and some enthusiasm to support our business development strategy would also be beneficial.

Our Geo team undertakes a diverse range of projects across various sectors, to deliver geo-environmental consultancy services backed up by in-house ground investigation services.

The successful candidate will become a member of this busy team delivering focused solutions for our growing key client base, with emphasis on technical excellence, client care and effective project management.  He or she will be working alongside other land contamination, environmental due diligence, ground investigation, groundwater and geo-technical specialists to deliver holistic solutions to clients' needs in these areas.  Additionally, the successful candidate will be collaborating with geo-environmental teams in other offices and with other specialists in the planning, environment and engineering teams.  

Key attributes required for the position are sound technical knowledge, enthusiasm, self-motivation and excellent verbal and written communication skills. We anticipate the role will require approximately 50% of your time will be site based and 50% will be office based, but this may vary as workload dictates.

You will hold a degree in geology, engineering geology, hydrogeology or relevant environmental science discipline. Whilst not essential, it would be beneficial for you to have a post graduate qualification such as a Master's degree. You should also be working towards Chartership with a relevant body, such as CIWEM IEMA or Geo Soc. You will have post graduate industry experience.

An understanding of current contaminated land technical guidance and the development planning regime.

  • You must have experience of, and be confident in, planning, managing and supervising ground investigation on site, including groundwater and ground gas monitoring and have the skills and knowledge to interpret data. Any specific site works accreditations/qualifications held will be an advantage (e.g. SMSTS, SSSTS, CSCS etc).

  • You will be knowledgeable in current practice and governing standards/guidance for the investigation and remediation of contaminated land and must be able to produce Phase 1 geo-environmental desk top study reports incorporating preliminary risk assessment and Phase 2 interpretative reports including qualitative and quantitative risk assessments.

  • You must have excellent written and verbal communication skill and be fully IT literate as you will be required to write clear, concise and technically robust reports.

  • You must have a good understanding of health, safety and environmental management.

  • A full, preferably clean, driving license.

  • You will be a team player with strong social, interpersonal and communication skills.
