Tetra Tech is hiring a Recruiter ,but not just any recruiter. We're looking for a senior recruiting partner with deep experience supporting water and wastewater engineering teams. Someone who understands how technical these roles are and how critical the right hire is to project delivery, client trust, and long-term growth.
This role is for a recruiter who knows how to navigate complex engineering talent markets, who can partner credibly with PEs and technical leaders, and who brings strategy, structure, and creativity to hard-to-fill roles.

Position Summary:
The Recruiter plays a critical role in supporting the organization's mission by attracting and hiring high-quality water and wastewater engineering talent. This position partners closely with technical leaders, project managers, and HR colleagues to deliver data-driven, compliant recruiting strategies aligned with business and project needs.
Essential Functions:
Serve as a strategic recruiting partner to water and wastewater engineering leadership. Translate complex technical and project-based hiring needs into effective, data-driven recruiting strategies aligned with business and delivery goals.
Own full-cycle recruiting for highly specialized water and wastewater engineering roles, including EITs, PEs, designers, and senior technical professionals. Manage the process from intake and proactive sourcing through offer negotiation and acceptance.
Proactively identify, engage, and convert passive technical talent using advanced sourcing techniques, including LinkedIn Recruiter, Boolean search, targeted job boards, recruiter-driven social engagement, and emerging AI-based tools.
Develop technically informed and personalized outreach messaging that resonates with experienced water and wastewater professionals and differentiates opportunities in competitive and niche talent markets.
Advise hiring managers on labor market conditions, candidate availability, compensation considerations, and realistic hiring strategies for hard-to-fill water and wastewater roles.
Manage multiple concurrent requisitions with precision and urgency. Balance speed, quality, and compliance in a fast-paced, metrics-driven environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Ensure data integrity, compliance, and audit readiness by maintaining accurate, timely candidate documentation and workflows within the applicant tracking system.
Deliver a consistent and thoughtful candidate experience through transparent communication, timely follow-up, and proactive coordination across recruiting, HR, and technical stakeholders.
Build and maintain trusted relationships with hiring managers, HR partners, and business leaders. Align on expectations, process, and accountability throughout the recruiting lifecycle.
Continuously evaluate and refine recruiting strategies by monitoring water and wastewater labor market trends, sourcing innovations, and recruiting technology advancements.
Support early-career and university recruiting initiatives as needed to strengthen long-term water and wastewater talent pipelines and employer brand visibility.
Required Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and professional recruiting experience.
- Ten or more years of proven experience as a corporate or in-house recruiter, with demonstrated success supporting technical or engineering-focused roles.
- Strong track record of recruiting entry-, mid-, and senior-level professionals within engineering or other highly technical disciplines.
- Hands-on experience managing the full recruitment lifecycle, from intake and proactive sourcing through offer acceptance.
- Advanced sourcing expertise, including the ability to identify and engage both active and passive talent using LinkedIn Recruiter, Boolean search techniques, and recruiter-driven social platforms.
- Experience partnering with and advising hiring managers and stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Proficiency using Applicant Tracking Systems to manage candidate workflows, ensure data accuracy, and maintain compliance.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit for extended periods while working at a computer and participating in virtual meetings
- Frequent use of hands and fingers for typing, navigating applicant tracking systems, and using standard office equipment
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in person, by phone, and via video conferencing
- Occasional standing, walking, or light lifting of materials up to approximately 15 pounds, such as laptops or files.
Work Environment / Environmental Factors:
- Primarily an office and/or remote work environment with standard business hours
- Work involves prolonged screen time and use of multiple digital systems simultaneously
- May include collaboration across time zones, requiring flexibility in scheduling meetings
- Occasional travel to office locations, career fairs, or team meetings as needed
