Job Details:
We are currently seeking a fill a coop position in Structural team at our Mississauga office. A co-op student performs various engineering assignments which requires a general familiarity with a broad field of engineering. Must be able to solve problems by use of a combination of standards and modified standard procedures, or methods developed in previous assignments. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of design calculations and structural modelling using structural analysis software and calculations for equipment support structures and foundations.
- Support project design team by completing material take-offs.
- Support department quality objectives through updating procedures and consolidating feedback from the engineering department.
- Communicate with other design disciplines to complete multidiscipline design tasks.
- The candidate will be capable of committing to and maintaining project timelines while working on multiple projects simultaneously.
- The ability to document and track project tasks and related design documents is required (strong organizational skills).
Requirements:
- Completed second year of a University Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering with plans to return to school following the coop term.
- Availability for 8 or 12 months is preferred.
- Strong communication skills are required. Must work well in a team of engineers, drafters and project managers to complete project assignments.
- Computer-oriented skills (familiarity with AutoCAD, MS Office, Numerical Methods Solutions, Structural Analysis Software such as STAAD, SFrame, RISA etc...) is an asset.
- Experience within the utility or power industry is considered an asset.

A requirement of working for Tetra Tech is that you are at least 18 years of age and legally entitled to work in Canada. (A copy of a valid work permit may be required.)
