Technical Consultant, Project “Strengthening a Gender-equitable and Inclusive Women-owned Small Business Network to Influence GEDSI and Trade Policies in Indonesia”
About RT4DThe Regional Trade for Development (RT4D) Facility supports ASEAN Member States to maximise benefits from the upgraded ASEAN-Australia-New Zealand Free Trade Agreement (AANZFTA) and the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) Agreement. Under the operation of the RT4D, the Trade and Gender Equality Incubator (TGEI), with funding support from Australia's Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), tests ideas and methods, drawing on promising practice to advance gender equality within trade-related policies, technical cooperation, and development programming.
Project SummaryTGEI is partnering with the Association for Women in Small Micro Business Assistance (ASPPUK) to deliver the project “Strengthening a gender-equitable and inclusive women-owned small business (PUK) network to influence GEDSI and Trade policies”. The project aims to address gender inequality affecting participation in trade in Indonesia and thereby facilitate the participation of women entrepreneurs in international markets.
The Opportunity
TGEI is seeking an individual consultant to work as a reviewer for two activities: 1) Completing the research on GEDSI and trade issues among ASPPUK network of SME service providers and 2) Developing a gender-responsive international trade module which will be informed by the research findings and recommendations. All documents will be subject to comments, amendments, and the approval from the RT4D Facility Team and the Project Proponent.
The Consultant will be responsible for the following deliverables regarding the completion of the research and the development of a gender-responsive international trade module.
- Deliverable 1: Written inputs for the draft and final research report
- Deliverable 2: Written inputs for the outline and draft training materials
- Deliverable 3: Written inputs for the final training materials (after the materials testing workshop)
Interested individual consultants or consultancy firms should provide a technical proposal detailing their capabilities in supporting the scope of services outlined in the Tor.
To ensure the above can be effectively managed and completed in alignment with this TOR, below are the requirements for the consultant:
- Senior trade and gender practitioners with minimum 15 years of relevant work experience and training qualification as below:
- technical expertise in in GEDSI (gender equality, disability and social inclusion) and trade issues (e.g. trade negotiation, technical barriers to trade and trade facilitation, etc.)
- Strong experience and skills in conducting research in gender and trade in the ASEAN or Indonesian context.
- Experience in designing and facilitating workshops on GEDSI and trade topics.
- Proven excellent communication and writing skills in English.
- Advanced degree (Master or PhD) in related fields such as International Development Studies, Gender Equality and Women Empowerment, International Trade, Economics, Political Science, International Relations, or Law.
- Being able to handle basic conversation in Bahasa Indonesia will be an advantage.
- Commitment to comply with Tetra Tech's code of conduct and policy on child protection, prevention of sexual harassment, exploitation and abuse
