Texas Children's Hospital – Houston, TX seeks an exceptional physician with unique training and/or experience to serve as an Adult Cardiac and Congenital Heart Intensivist.

The Department of Critical Care at Texas Children's Hospital in Houston, Texas is seeking an exceptional provider to serve as an Adult Cardiac and Congenital Heart Intensivist, within the highly respected Department of Critical Care.

The Heart Center's home in Legacy Tower encompasses eight floors dedicated exclusively to cardiac care for children and adults with congenital heart disease and is equipped with the latest technology to ensure every family has access to state-of-the-art diagnosis and treatment provided by multidisciplinary specialists who work together to meet your needs. The top floor of the Heart Center is also home to our Adult Congenital Heart Program, providing a seamless transition of care from childhood to adulthood for those with congenital heart disease.

Our uniquely trained team of physicians, who are also academic faculty at Baylor College of Medicine, is composed of Adult Congenital Heart Disease (ACHD) intensivists, cardiologists, hospitalists, and surgeons who are supported by a dedicated group of ACHD nurse practitioners and nurses We are committed to setting a new standard for the treatment of adults with congenital heart disease.

Position Highlights:

We seek to hire a full-time clinical- Adult Cardiac and Congenital Heart Intensivist at our main medical center located in Houston, Texas.

  • Support quality and safety, maintain clinical excellence and innovation, and serve at a clinical capacity within the division.
  • Schedule consist of 10 weeks of day shifts and 10 weeks of night shifts per year. On days, the provider will cover 7 shifts for the week. Night shifts are rotated every other day for a total of 3 or 4 night shifts per week. All shifts working with 1-2 APPs as front line providers.
  • The average census is 4-6 patients.
  • Primarily treating patients (16+ years of age) with congenital heart disease along with other cardiovascular diseases.


Qualifications:

  • Candidates of all experience levels are encouraged to apply.
  • An academic record consistent with appointment as an assistant associate or full professor is desired given TCH's affiliation with Baylor. However, this is NOT required for this position.
  • The ideal candidate will have a pioneer-like spirit that is flexible and comfortable with the challenges of growing and expanding an existing practice within our Medical Center which is unique in the nation in its scope.
  • Applicants must have a Medical School Degree, relevant Residency and Fellowship training, and be Board Certified or truly Board Eligible.
  • Completed residency in Internal Medicine, Internal Medicine-Pediatrics or Anesthesiology required.
  • Completed fellowship in Adult and/or Pediatric Critical Care is required.
  • Experience in Cardiovascular or Congenital Heart Critical Care highly preferred but not required.
  • The selected candidate for the position must be eligible to obtain or already hold an active Texas medical license.
