Position Overview:
The Activity Specialist will work as part of the P.R.I.M.E. Leaders Afterschool Program by assisting the Site Coordinator in the implementation, design, and evaluation of all after-school program activities. The Activity Specialist will provide social and educational support and supervision of program participants while ensuring their safety and security. The Activity Specialist will help students prepare for projects geared toward public health topics through literacy, digital media, business, and community exploration activities linked to state learning standards in English, Language Arts, Science, Technology, Engineering, Math and Social Studies. The Activity Specialist reports to the Site Coordinator and/or designee.
Position Qualifications:
High School Degree or equivalent (some college preferred). Relevant work experience with children and or adolescents. Relevant work experience in a school or community based setting. Ability to create curriculum for activities. Ability to multi-task and work well in a fast paced environment. Strong attention to detail, and meticulous organizational skills. Ability to write clear, concise and accurate reports. Comfortable working in team settings. Possess excellent organizational, verbal, written and communication skills. Have a demonstrated interest or education in youth development. Ability to work with culturally diversified individuals. Must be computer literate and have the ability to promote a positive and enthusiastic work environment. Must be flexible as schedule can change depending upon needs of school.
Hours: Monday through Friday 2pm to 6pm
Salary: $18.17 (Flat Hourly Rate)
