The Corporate Engagement Director, Nature United is a member of the Strategic Partnerships team. The Corporate Engagement Director works closely with the Director of Strategic Partnerships to set the overall vision and approach for Nature United's work to influence markets and corporate practices for climate and biodiversity outcomes and is responsible for implementation, reaching desired targets, and evaluating and mitigating risk. The Corporate Engagement Director supervises employees and works with interdisciplinary teams to serve as a subject matter expert and advisor on complex and strategic issues, including the role of the corporate sector, industry, and markets in advancing conservation priorities. They collaborate with Nature United's Conservation, Philanthropy, and Communications teams and The Nature Conservancy's global Impact Finance and Markets programs. They ensure activities respect the rights of Indigenous peoples and support the interests of Indigenous partners.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND SCOPE
Supervises administrative and/or professional staff with responsibility for performance management, training and development.
With the Director of Strategic Partnerships, sets the overall vision and approach for Nature United's work to influence corporate practices and markets and is responsible for its implementation, reaching desired targets, and evaluating and mitigating risk.
Applies a diversified knowledge of practices to support Nature United's conservation strategies, in particular our work to advance policy and market solutions for climate and biodiversity.
Supports program objectives by working collaboratively in a complex matrix organization within cross-functional interdisciplinary teams.
Develops relationships and works effectively with corporate and other partners.
Acts independently within broad program goals.
Develops and implements multi-year engagement strategies with leading corporations. May include fundraising activities.
Leads or participates in negotiations for complex, high profile or sensitive agreements.
Ensures that all corporate engagement activities respect Indigenous rights, maintain Nature United's commitment to respectful partnerships with Indigenous communities, and adhere to relevant policies and laws.

What You'll Bring:Bachelor's degree in economics, business, sustainability, or other relevant field and 5 years of government relations or corporate sector experience, or equivalent combination of education/experience.
Fluency in English.
Analytical and project management experience. Demonstrated experience in successfully developing and implementing complex projects in an unstructured environment.
Experience developing, directing and managing multiple projects and implementing strategic program goals.
Experience developing and supervising administrative and/or professional staff
Proven communication and presentation skills.
Proven negotiation skills.
Multi-lingual skills and multi-cultural experience appreciated.
Familiarity with Indigenous peoples' rights in Canada.
Master's degree appreciated.
Expertise working with land-based sectors (forestry, agriculture, mining, industrial development); economic analysis; carbon markets.
Demonstrated experience supporting a multifaceted team and using strong negotiation skills to advance conservation objectives both internally and externally.
Experience presenting to and communicating with management-level individuals within the corporate sector.
Excellent team player with experience working in multi-disciplinary groups, using influence and interpersonal skills, listening, diplomacy and tact to build strong relationships with governments, corporations, partners, donors, volunteers, and all levels of staff.

Salary Information:The estimated starting salary for this position is dependent on experience, qualifications and location.
Salary range in Canada is: $124,000 - $132,000 CAD annually
