  • Functions autonomously and is an independent decision maker, able to practice within the critical care settings setting while demonstrating outstanding skills in working with the acutely ill elderly and chronically ill client.
  • Displays a professional demeanor that exemplifies a positive role model for professional nursing practice at all times.
  • Functions as a facilitator and innovator for state-of-the-art nursing care with direct involvement in the implementation of new techniques for safety and quality care.

  • Must have a NYS license to practice nursing
  • BLS Certification


  • Masters in Nursing Science with specialty in Critical Care Nursing Required. CNS or CNL in critical care preferred.
  • Maintains a minimum of fifty hours of continuing education annually.


  • Seven to Ten years of experience in adult critical care care nursing.
  • Experience in education and program planning.
  • Previous or current faculty experience desirable.
  • Project management experience desired.
  • Curriculum development experience
  • Simulation development and implementation experience
