Main Function
- Provide oversight for all aspects of the patient care technician (PCT) orientation and continuing education
- Create career pathways for PCTs
- Create a positive learning environment and ongoing support for retention of PCTs in conjunction with unit/department leaders
Required Job Specific Competencies
- Promotes evidence based practice in PCT onboarding and continuing education
- Implements teaching and learning strategies and interventions based on adult learning theory
- Evaluates clinical outcomes as related to education interventions including the impact on cost, quality, and satisfaction with health care
- Involvement in the implementation of new techniques for safety and quality care
- Maintains own knowledge base on current interventions, trends, healthcare and professional nursing developments
- Knowledge of Systems Theory and change process required
Qualifications/Education
- BSN required
- NYS license to practice nursing required
- BLS Certification required
- MSN in nursing education preferred
- Maintains a minimum of fifty hours of continuing education annually
Experience
- 3-5 years of experience in adult acute care nursing
- Experience in education and other program planning
- Previous or current faculty experience desirable
- Project management experience desirable

Position Pay Range: $42.00-48.00/hour
Starting Pay: Based on experience
