Total Wine & More is seeking a Senior Scrum Master to join our Technology team in our Bethesda, MD office. This role supports guiding and coaching multiple Scrum Teams within our growing eCommerce department. You will monitor the scrum process and facilitate ceremonies to increase team efficiency. You will help motivate the team and encourage changes to ensure quality and timeliness of team deliverables. You will be a servant-leader who can coach multiple teams, within the Scrum principles. - Guide and coach, the Scrum team on how to use Agile/Scrum practices and values.
- Work with Off-Shore and On-Shore Agile Teams.
- Provide support to the team using a servant leadership style and leading by example.
- Guide and coach multiple Scrum teams with different team sizes, different cultures, co-located vs. distributed.
- Responsible for facilitating daily scrum, sprint planning, sprint demo, backlog refinement and retrospective meetings.
- Facilitate discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution for the team(s)
- Ensure observance of DoD (definition of done)
- Support and educate the Product Owner, especially with respect to refining and managing the product backlog, to ensure that the work is well understood so the team can continually make progress.
- Assess the Scrum maturity of the team and the organization and coach the team to higher levels of maturity, at a pace that is sustainable and comfortable for the team and the organization.
- Build a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame, retribution, or being judged, with an emphasis of healing and problem solving.
- 3-5+ years of experience in software development with at least 2-3+ years of Scrum Master experience in software development
- Knowledge of numerous well documented Scrum patterns and techniques (example: numerous Burndown techniques, numerous Retrospective formats, handling bugs, etc.)
- Experience being a Scrum Master on multiple Scrum teams.
- The ability to distinguish between what "is Scrum" what is "not Scrum".
