The Capital Markets Analyst will work with the Capital Markets & Asset Strategies Midwest team to execute commercial real transactions across the region, prepare market research, source institutional and private capital, manage due diligence, underwriting, prospecting, and advising clients on the acquisition, disposition, development and redevelopment, and repositioning of assets.

It is also the responsibility of the Capital Markets Analyst not only to exhibit exceptional customer service when communicating with clients but also to focus on productivity and results.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Prepare broker opinions of value and offering memorandums for commercial real estate assets including research, financial modeling, and composition of executive summaries.

  • Assist team to compile financial underwriting and market research into presentation materials for internal and external use.

  • Prepare and manage detailed pro forma projections & cash flows.

  • Analyze valuation metrics and economic aspects of existing commercial real estate assets and proposed projects.

  • Conducts all property due diligence, including lease review, expenses analysis, and coordination of all due diligence activities.

  • Help monitor overall market & industry trends by keeping updated database, maps and presentation materials.

  • Build and maintain property valuation models using Excel and Argus Enterprise.

  • Assist management in additional capacities to support key organization initiatives.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • A bachelor's degree with emphasis in real estate, finance, economics or related field.

  • A minimum of 1+ years of experience as a real estate analyst, or related position, with exposure to Argus Enterprise.

  • Preferably prior experience with a wide range of asset types including office, medical office, industrial, retail, multifamily, and land.

  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Argus Enterprise.

  • Advance skills with cash flow models and levered return calculations to effectively underwrite commercial real estate.

  • Excellent writing and communication skills.

  • Understands project scope, purpose and audience; anticipates varying perspectives and inquiries; stays one-step ahead of incoming requests based on business instincts.

  • Demonstrate strong quantitative, financial analysis and modeling (MS Excel) skills are a prerequisite.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects, changing priorities and time-sensitive, workload(s).

  • Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable and courteous service to internal and external clients.

  • Ability to keep information and internal communications confidential.

  • Exhibit excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to work in a team setting including collaborating with transaction coordinators, research, and producers to create collateral, effectively manage transactions, and deliver exceptional service to clients

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% or more of the time/constantly operate a computer and other office productivity machinery (ex. a calculator, copy machine, computer printer) or, by request, be provided reasonable accommodations to perform the essential functions of the position.

  • Travel may be required.
