POSITION SUMMARY:
The Convention Sales Manager plays a pivotal role in securing group and convention business for Hotel Granduca. The position is responsible for identifying and cultivating new opportunities, securing bookings, and maximizing revenue through strategic sales initiatives. With a strong emphasis on personalized service and creative event planning solutions, the Convention Sales Manager ensures each client experience reflects the elegance and exclusivity of our boutique luxury brand. This role collaborates closely with the Director of Sales and Marketing, as well as the Catering and Operations teams, to deliver a seamless transition from initial sale to flawless execution.
POSITION ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Generate leads and build relationships with corporate, association, and SMERF markets to secure group and convention bookings.
Attend industry trade shows, networking events, and sales missions to promote Hotel Granduca Houston and expand market reach.
Conduct site inspections and presentations for prospective clients, showcasing the hotel's unique offerings and service philosophy.
Prepare detailed proposals, contracts, and group resumes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Coordinate with Revenue Management and the Director of Sales and Marketing to ensure group rates align with overall pricing strategy and maximize profitability.
Collaborate with the Catering team and other internal stakeholders to customize group events and meeting setups.
Manage the group sales process from initial inquiry to post-event follow-up, ensuring high levels of client satisfaction.
Maintain strong relationships with repeat clients, travel planners, and third-party meeting professionals to encourage loyalty and repeat bookings.
Maintain detailed records in the CRM system (e.g., Delphi/FDC), including client communications, lead status, and booking pace.
Provide accurate reporting on group sales performance, booking pace, and market trends.
Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and industry developments to adjust strategies accordingly.
Achieve and exceed individual and team sales goals and revenue targets.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field preferred.
Minimum of 3 years of sales experience in a luxury hotel, boutique property, or upscale hospitality environment.
Proven track record in group and convention sales with a strong network of industry contacts.
Experience with high-touch client service and customization in a luxury setting.
Proficient in hotel sales systems such as Delphi/FDC, Opera Sales & Catering, or similar CRM platforms.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
Ability to analyze sales reports, forecasting, and revenue management principles.
Interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
Polished and professional demeanor with proven strengths in negotiation and persuasion.
Self-motivated with a strong sense of initiative, accountability, and follow-through.
Team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate across departments.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management capabilities.
Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods during meetings, events, and client site visits.
Capability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs occasionally in support of sales materials or event setups.
Hotel Granduca Houston operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Scheduling may vary based on operational needs, including shifts, start times, and total hours worked per week.
