The Painter is responsible for painting walls, ceilings, and other surfaces using various techniques and tools. The Painter is also responsible for preparing surfaces, repairing damages, and ensuring a clean and professional finish with the ability to accurately assess the scope of work and determine the necessary materials and tools needed. The Painter must ensure high-quality workmanship, adherence to safety standards, and completion of projects within specified time limits. This must be done in a manner that not only protects, but also maximizes the value of the property.

It is also the responsibility of the Painter not only to exhibit legendary customer service when communicating with tenants, prospective tenants, owners, and vendors but also to focus on productivity and results.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and applying primer as needed.

  • Apply paint using brushes, rollers, or sprayers to achieve a smooth, even finish.

  • Select appropriate paints and finishes based on surface type, environmental factors, and client preferences.

  • Perform touch-ups and repairs, as necessary.

  • Quality check of product throughout process.

  • Assist with troubleshooting and repairs as it relates to painting at all buildings.

  • Respond immediately to emergency situations and customer concerns.

  • Ensure proper ventilation and safety measures are followed during painting operations.

  • Must follow safety protocols, regulations and use protective equipment to prevent accidents and exposure to harmful chemicals.

  • Maintain inventory and perform routine ordering of supplies and materials as approved by your supervisor.

  • Assist or take responsibility for maintenance and operation programs/schedules as it relates to painting.

  • Maintain a safe work attitude by continuously evaluating workplace risks.

  • Additional duties as assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.

  • A minimum of 2+ years of commercial painting experience preferred.

  • Knowledge of paints, varnishes, stains & equipment Painting Experience.

  • Possess competent knowledge of the use and care of tools and equipment used in painting.

  • Must be knowledgeable about safety protocols and procedures and always adhere to them.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects, changing priorities and time-sensitive, workload(s).

  • Ability to provide general direction/be self-managed/work independently.

  • Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable, and courteous service to internal and external customers.

  • Exhibit excellent verbal communication skills.

  • Include stooping, bend, standing, climbing and frequent lifting of a minimum of 50 lbs. of equipment (pumps, tools, ladders) and ability to safely install rigging/lifting device.

  • May require shift work and/or on call duties.
