Description

Saint Alphonsus Medical Group (SAMG) - a 500 + provider multispecialty group with a multi-disciplinary team approach to patient care - is seeking an experienced, Fellowship trained Anatomic & Clinical pathologist to join our collaborative and congenial group practice as a fourth partner.

Partners share in covering general pathology in conjunction with their respective individual subspecialties. Cytopathology or Dermatopathology are ideal compliments to the current Cytopath (1), Gastrointestinal path (1) and Hematopath (1).

Partners work well together, being available and backing-up each other. One example is participation in weekly, multi-disciplinary Breast Conference and Tumor Board on a rotating basis. The pathologists oversee both Anatomical Pathology and Clinical Pathology with the clinical laboratory resulting over 1.5 million tests a year.

Cases per year (approx.):

  • Surgical Pathology - 15,000
  • Pap smear - 12,500
  • Non GYN Cytologys - 1,750
  • Hematology (inc. bone marrow interpretations) - 750

The pathology group provides services to all service lines within the hospital as well as a laboratory outreach program.

The schedule for this full-time opportunity is a traditional Monday - Friday work week plus call and hospital duties including procedures, rounding, and consults. Call is 1:4, shared equally, and includes evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Support: Superb Histology Lab - high quality and easy to get additional immunostains. Regions only Level II Trauma Center; ED, ICU, CVICU, NICU, fellowship trained Intensivists, Cardiologists, Neurologists, Wound & Hyperbaric, Hospitalist, Pediatric Hospitalists, Diabetes, Inpatient Pain, Palliative Care and more.

Requirements:

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree
  • Successful completion of an accredited ACGME/AOA Pathology residency program
  • Successful completion of a Fellowship program in a Pathology subspecialty (other subspecialties considered if experience or training is exceptional).
  • Board Certification through the American Board of Pathology in AP/CP.
  • Obtain Idaho medical licensure and granting of privileges at SARMC and other health system affiliated hospitals as needed.
  • Valid controlled substance registration with Board of Pharmacy and DEA

This is an exciting opportunity for the right Pathologist to be part of a growing multispecialty group practice.
