As a Nurse Midwife, the work you'll do on the U.S. Army health care team is not only an essential service, but also life changing. It's a career that will make a difference in our Soldiers' lives and your own. Certified nurse midwives diagnose and coordinate all aspects of the birthing process, either independently or as part of a healthcare team. Midwives may also provide well-woman gynecological care. As part of the Army Nurse Corps, you'll play an important role in improving the overall quality of life for Soldiers and their families while being surrounded by dedicated professionals who share your values and a passion for excellence.

Requirements:
  • Master's degree as a Certified Nurse Midwife from a program accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE)
  • Board certified as a Certified Nurse Midwife
  • Must be between 21 and 42 years of age upon initial appointment. Prior commissioned time is credited one-for-one against the 42-year age cutoff.
  • Current, valid, active, and unrestricted nursing license
  • Must be a U.S. citizen
