Summary of Job Duties: The Orthopaedic & Spine Hospital (TOSH) is a new, state-of-the-art facility currently under construction on UAMS' Little Rock campus. Opening in May of 2023, the four-story, 158,000 square-foot hospital will represent our vision of patient-centered, technologically advanced care that creates healthier, more active tomorrows for our patients and communities. In a facility designed for and dedicated to the delivery of exceptional orthopaedic and spine care—with nationally-recognized surgical outcomes— The Orthopaedic & Spine Hospital at UAMS Health will serve the community, region, and world for decades to come.

The Food Preparation Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of food service personnel, directing food service activities, monitoring security and safety practices, coordinating the production and serving of food, ordering supplies, and the preparation of reports. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency policy.
Qualifications:

Minimum:

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • 2 years of experience in institutional or commercial food service operations, including 1 year supervisory experience

  • Self-directed, flexible and innovative

  • Strong communication skills used to inspire confidence in coworkers

  • Good leadership and organizational skills

Preferred:

  • Bachelors degree in dietetics or a related field, ServSafe Certified, Certified Dietary Manager

Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring diet technicians (ambassadors) take menu orders.   

  • Ensuring food is held in accordance to regulatory guidelines

  • Ensuring patient trays are delivered in a timely manner.

  • Ensuring completed trays are retrieved in a timely manner.

  • Ensuring trays are assembled according to meal tickets.

  • Ensuring dishes are cleaned and sanitized according to policy.

  • Ensuring patient food cooks prepare food according to standardized recipes

  • Overseeing the Inventory Control Clerks who stock nourishment in patient care areas.
