Summary of Job Duties: The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Psychiatric Research Institute Center for Addiction Services and Treatment (CAST) Clinic is a specifically trained member of the psychiatry team. The LPN supports the ongoing delivery of care as identified by the multi-disciplinary Patient Management Team. The LPN works under the direct supervision of the Program Manager and indirectly under the direction of the RN.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse Program,
Valid LPN License;
Minimum of 1 year clinical nursing experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Psychiatric Nursing preferred
Excellent oral and written communication skills, ability to accept and follow written and verbal instructions, ability to communicate following Guest Care guidelines
CPR certification (BCLS) completed during the probationary period

Responsibilities:
Assist physicians and registered nurses with providing basic, direct patient assessment.
Performs intake exams and health screenings, monitors vital signs, collects various swabs and specimens, and administers diagnostic tests.
Develop, communicate, and implement patient treatment plans by evaluating patient well-being, reporting any needs to medical staff, and explaining treatments and procedures.
Provides a high standard of care and customer service to patients and families.
Ensures comfort and well-being of patients by performing care activities, such as feeding patients, changing dressings and bandages of wounds, and transporting patients from wheelchairs, beds, and gurneys.
Maintains organized medical records and fulfills records requests.
Participate in ad hoc research projects to improve performance management and patient care.
Performs other duties as requested.
