Summary of Job Duties: The Medical Laboratory Scientist I is responsible for processing, evaluating patient specimens, performing tests to identify microorganisms or antigens according to written procedures and perform susceptibilities.
Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in medical laboratory sciences, Medical Technology or an ASCP approved discipline (chemistry or biology)
• CHT (ABHI) certification within 1 year of eligibility. If eligible at time of hire, certification must be obtained within 1 year of hire date.

Job Requirements:

• This person will also record and evaluate daily, weekly, and monthly QC in their assigned areas for further review by the supervisor.
• This position requires one to maintain safe work practices, follow all regulatory requirements and engage supervisor, manager, or director as appropriate.
• Conducts inventory counts on assigned areas, restocks supplies as needed, reports supplies to be ordered, and stores received supplies per storage requirements and regulations.
• Perform other duties as needed.
