Summary of Job Duties: The Clinical Aging Research Associate III will be responsible for identifying, assisting, and facilitating investigator-initiated as well as industry-sponsored clinical trials pertinent to the field of aging. He/ She will be responsible for writing Institute Review Board (IRB) protocols. Together with clinical investigators, the Clinical Aging Research Associate III will arrange for site preparation and readiness for clinical trials.
Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Biology or related field plus seven (7) years of research experience required.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Research writing experience in grants, scientific publications, or related.

  • Excellent at multi-tasking and with interpersonal communication skills

  • CITI human research certification, CITI GLP certification preferred.


Additional Information:

Responsible:

  • Provides leadership and manage all aspects of the clinical trials at the Reynolds Institute on Aging as well as coordinating/participating centers in rural Arkansas.

  • Hiring and training of appropriate staff for the conduct of clinical trials and monitoring performance.

  • Identify, develop and facilitate appropriate investigator-initiated as well as sponsored clinical trials.

  • Responsible for budget review and appropriate allocation of resources for clinical trials. Responsible for writing and overseeing IRB protocols.

  • Responsible for preparing research findings in the development of progress reports for different funding agencies.

  • Prepare manuscripts (journal articles, abstracts) promotional and educational material (annual research reports, general information articles) as well as maintain databases for aging research. 

  • Responsible for overseeing meetings, conferences, and other functions as needed to support the mission of Geriatrics and UAMS.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
