In this role, the Physical Therapist II - Pediatric Therapist performs advanced/specialized physical therapy services/procedures and consultations, primarily in area of advanced clinical competency and/or specialty certification. The PT II. develops clinical programs within area of expertise and provides training to other staff and students.

 

Essential Job Functions

  • Evaluates patients utilizing the advanced/specialized test and measurements; to determine the physical therapy problem/level of function and the expected discharge environment.
  • Promotes and has knowledge of and utilizes appropriate patient care protocol relating to the physical, psychosocial and developmental needs of neonatal, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients.
  • Establishes a treatment plan based upon the evaluation findings; and the patient/family, the referring practitioner and therapist's goals.
  • Performs advanced/specialized physical therapy techniques and procedures.
  • Treats patients with complex problems ie. co-morbidities and/or poor previous out-comes; consults on difficult cases for staff and referring practitioners.
  • Documents findings; patient progress; and procedures performed and time required.
  • Instructs patient/families in home programs.
  • Demonstrates effective time management; achieves designated productivity standard.

Required Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited physical therapy school with Bachelors or Master's or DPT degree or verification by the APTA of equivalent training in another country.
  • Current physical therapy license in the State of Illinois.
  • Must have lymphedema certification.
