Medical Technologist - Blood Bank

We're hiring for a Medical Technologist for Blood Bank as a full-time days job in Hyde Park, IL.
The Medical Technologist in the Blood Bank performs routine and esoteric tests, operates state-of-the-art instruments, and manufactures and issues blood components such as washed red cells, leuko-reduced red cells, etc. Responsible for quality control, instrument maintenance, and method development to support a broad menu of routine and esoteric tests, including antibody identification. Works collaboratively with colleagues, participates in process improvement projects, and trains MT students.
Medical Technologist Experience and Education:
- Must satisfy CLIA 88 qualification requirements for testing personnel performing high complexity testing.
- Bachelor's degree in clinical laboratory science or related field from an accredited college or university.
- Certification or eligibility within a specified time frame through American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or equivalent.
- At least one year of pertinent laboratory experience preferred.
- Knowledge and ability to use laboratory/hospitals information systems.
- Knowledge and ability to use automated and conventional laboratory equipment.
- Be able to lift up tp 50 lbs
