THE IMPACT YOU CAN HAVE:
As a Senior Merchant, International, you will partner closely with Ulta Beauty's core U.S. merchandising team and cross-functional stakeholders as part of the Global Merchandising Center of Excellence. This role is responsible for ensuring Ulta Beauty's core merchandising vision and mission translates globally while tailoring strategies to meet the unique needs of each region. You will build and protect strong brand relationships, define product and assortment strategies, and collaborate with core category merchants to drive financial objectives that maximize sales and profitability in our international markets. You will also coach and support our in-country partners on U.S. processes and best practices, adapting approaches to align with each region's partnership structure, market maturity, and available resources.

The ideal candidate is a strategic, entrepreneurial merchant that's innovative, creative, and skilled at building and stabilizing new business ventures. This individual will embrace a hands-on approach, flexing beyond traditional merchant responsibilities as needed, and will excel at problem-solving in a dynamic, fast-paced global environment.


YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH THESE GOALS BY:
• Immerse 3rd party operating partners in Ulta Beauty global merchandising vision and strategy for key categories
• Support and execute global strategy for our Ignite and Only at Ulta brand portfolio
• Pitch and negotiate terms for brands in existing and new global markets
• Inform market-specific vision, strategy and annual business plans by leveraging in-country expertise, historical data and relevant market and category trends
• Collaborate with global marketing and new market partners to build relevant MAM Calendar that supports market-specific objectives


ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Identify opportunities for new brands, product and assortments to support local market needs and KPIs.
• Similarly, identify strong international brands that have opportunity for growth in the US market.
• Prepare and report performance as it relates to net sales and merchandising efforts
• Analyze sales, feedback, and historical data to inform category strategies and product decisions; and bring insights back to US merchandising team.
• Establish “ways of working” with local market partners

THE ESSENTIALS FOR SUCCESS: 
• Seasoned merchandising expertise with 8+ years of professional retail experience with increasing scope and responsibility
• 2+ years of demonstrated experience leading a direct report or team in a high-performance culture
• Demonstrated experience in establishing credible brand partnerships and overseeing large, complex negotiations
• Ability to set competitive and breakthrough merchandising strategies and demonstrated experience leading through execution
• Deep knowledge of category, product, trend, and guest buying behaviors
• Experience managing a large budget/P&L, interpreting, and applying understanding of key financial indicators to make better business decisions
• Ability to make sense of complex, high quantity, and sometimes contradictory information to effectively solve problems
• Displays organizational savviness and executive presence while anticipating and balancing the needs of multiple stakeholders
• Exceptional and effective communication skills
• Effective planning and prioritizing skills and ability to stay organized in a fast-moving business
• Strong bottom-line orientation and pushes self and others to achieve results
• Value creation mindset, thinks like a business owner

The pay range for this position is $102,900.00 - $150,000.00 / Year with the opportunity for eligible associates to earn additional compensation pursuant to the Company's bonus plan. Exact pay will be based on factors including, but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, level, shift, geographic location, and business and organizational needs. Full-time positions are eligible for paid time off, health, dental, vision, life and disability benefits. Part-time positions are eligible for dental, vision, life, and disability benefits.
