RN Circulator / Scrub
Essential Job Duties:
- Effective Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborates on operative procedures and care plans with RN and O.R. Team.
- Uses effective communication and interpersonal skills in the O.R.
- Contributes to care plans through accurate patient information reporting.
- Organizes work assignments systematically.
- Patient Care Responsibilities:
- Assumes patient care responsibility within experience and practice scope.
- Applies aseptic techniques during scrubbing, handling instruments, and O.R. preparation.
- Assists in patient preparation, ensuring a sterile field.
- Checks and reports instrument defects, sterilizes instruments, assists in short-term care plans.
- Hospital Policy Adherence:
- Demonstrates knowledge of hospital policies and procedures.
- Follows chain of command for patient or departmental issues.
- Operates within job description limits, using correct procedures.
- Uses reference materials like Policy/Procedure Manuals and Equipment Manuals.
- Continuous Improvement and Maintenance:
- Anticipates and responds to physician needs during procedures.
- Participates in O.R. clean-up, sterilizing instruments, and restocking supplies.
- Takes inventories of supplies and equipment as requested.
- Updates physician reference cards and assists in procedure revisions.
Credentials and Education:
- Graduate of accredited nursing program
- Licensed by Indiana State Board of Nurses
- BLS level of CPR
