Position Summary:
  The Department of Medicine is comprised of 11 Divisions by Medicine Subspecialty. The post award team in the Finance unit is responsible for management of more than $29 million in contracts, grants and research funding. This centralized unit provides expertise and financial management for contracts, grants, and university allocations for research.
  Under the supervision of the Principal Investigator, the incumbent will perform statistical analyses and scientific writing related to epidemiologic and quality of care studies related to diabetes and cardiovascular disease. Involves gathering, analyzing, and interpreting a wide variety of research data. Designs and conducts research including analyzing collected information according to established statistical methods, and developing recommendations based on research findings. Prepares reports, charts, tables, and other visual aids to interpret and communicate data and results. Assists with manuscript preparation for publication.

Required:  
  • 1-2 years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor's degree or related experience in Public Health or Biological Sciences.
  • Clear and professional communication skills; written and verbal. 
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and in STATA, SAS or R Experience with data management and statistical analysis. 
  • Organized and able to set task priorities. 
  • Prior research experience with demonstrated independent responsibilities and activities. 
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and conduct research protocols with critical attention to detail.
     
Preferred:  
  • Experience with quality of care studies and research in the area of diabetes and cardiovascular disease.
