Position Summary:   Anteater Express serves as the primary source of transportation for many students, and UCI affiliates, living in nearby housing communities. The Training Coordinator 2 will assist the General Manager of Anteater Express in applying professional training concepts. Develop, coordinate, and deliver commercial bus driver training for 100 shuttle drivers annually, including new employee training; formal field training and examinations; driver performance tests; classroom instruction; retraining; behind the wheel training; refresher training. This position will also be responsible for ensuring that all commercial vehicles in operation is in compliance with state and federal standards. Applies organization policies, procedures and programs to address training needs. Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate actions.

  The expected pay range for this recruitment is $29.26 - $40.28 (Hourly Rate). The Full Salary Range for the salary grade this position is assigned to is $29.26 - $51.29 (Hourly Rate).

Required:  
  • Must have at least THREE years of experience operating a commercial vehicle. 
  • Must have at least TWO years of experience as a field operations supervisor for a transit agency. 
  • Must have at least ONE year of training experience involving commercial vehicles. 
  • Knowledge of mechanical systems of heavy duty vehicles
  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
  • Must possess a Commercial Driver License (Class B) with passenger endorsement and air brakes certification.
  • Working knowledge of functional area and understanding of how training may impact other areas. 
  • Working knowledge of delivering training programs and of other areas of human resources. 
  • Familiar with current training programs and trends. 
  • Good skills in delivering training programs. Working knowledge of conducting needs assessment. 
  • Good analytical skills to understand how business needs can be addressed through the design and delivery of training programs. 
  • Good verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills and good presentation skills.
  Preferred:  
  • Working knowledge of organizational policies and procedures. 
  • Working knowledge of adult learning theories and education methodologies. 
  • Demonstrated marketing skills including website features, videos and/or other training aids. 
  • Ability to develop and implement customer service programs in a service environment.

 

Special Conditions Preferred:  
  • This position is subject to a background check as defined by UC Irvine policy and procedure. In addition, applicant must pass a pre-employment drug test and be in the random drug and alcohol testing pool. 
  • Must be available to work either: 
  • 8 am – 5 pm; Monday – Friday; Hours may vary; including weekends. 
  • This position will be required to work flexible hours including nights and weekends as necessary
