Description

The position of Associate Director for Housing Administration provides oversight, coordination and implementation of the comprehensive process of student housing applications and assignments. The position is also responsible for configuring, maintaining and supporting the StarRez housing software program for Residence Life, which includes developing data subscriptions, data integration, desktop support, integration with access-control system and managing software subscriptions. This position is charged with developing a long-term occupancy management strategy for Residence Life.

Minimum Education and Experience

– Bachelor's degree in a related field;
- 5 to 7 years of experience in higher education; 3-5 years of experience in student housing or closely related field; 1 to 3 years of providing technical experience in StarRez or similar housing management system creating front-end data subscriptions, and integration of data between housing assignment software and Peoplesoft or other campus software. Basic understanding of data analytics within the system, utilizing StarQL or similar database structures. 1 to 3 years of supervisory experience.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Provide strategic leadership for the University Housing Administration area including responsibility for gathering, researching, and analyzing best practice programs and making recommendations for housing assignments, technology, marketing, and budget based on research and assessment. Execute the operational calendar for an application, placement, and student contract cycle responsible for approximately 5,500 residential students. Supervise, train, and hire three full-time Housing Administration Coordinators. Coordinate student housing needs with Housing Operations, Residential Life, Business Services, Dining Services, Information Technology, and the Bursar's office. Oversee existing and emerging technology initiatives. Maintain student housing database and troubleshoot basic technology issues related to our housing software program. Manage demographic and financial interfaces between department software and university software systems. Ensure quality of system functionality and recommend alternative systems/solutions as appropriate. Develop data subscriptions, data integration and integrate the system with our card access control system. Serve as the technical liaison for the department and the relationship with our software vendor. Provide direction for departmental communication and marketing in collaboration with University Housing Operations. Ensure UTD departmental communications are consistent and regular with all special housing groups. Communicate housing data to appropriate university departments by collecting and analyzing housing occupancy, trends; generate housing options based on needs; alert staff when changes need to be made.

Remote Work Notice:
After the probationary period, this role may be eligible for a hybrid (partly remote/partly in office) work schedule, subject to business need and manager approval. Must be located within the DFW Area and have the ability to be on campus with 24 hours of notice. A UT Dallas Remote Work Agreement will be required within 14 days after approval
