Description

This role is responsible for designing, developing debugging, customization, documentation and supporting application solutions and re-engineered components based on client requirements. Works closely with customers, business analysts, and team members to understand business requirements that drive the analysis and design of quality technical solutions, designing and modifying PeopleSoft modules and building integration to a multitude of ancillary systems to meet user needs and enhance processes.

Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree and 2 years of related experience or associate's degree and 4 years of related experience or high school diploma and 6 years of related experience.



Preferred Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree with coursework in computing or information systems and eight years of progressively responsible computer programming and analysis experience
  • Must have at least 5 -7 years of experience working as HCM Technical Developer
  • 6 years of experience using PeopleSoft development tools including PeopleCode, App Designer, PSQuery, Component Interfaces, Integration Broker, App Engine, Workflow and Approval Framework, XMLP, etc.
  • 6 years' experience developing and customizing PeopleSoft objects including Components, Pages, Records, Application Engines, Component Interfaces and PeopleCode.
  • 3+ years of PeopleTools experience, current experience with version 8.57+
  • Experience with PeopleSoft HCM 9.2 including Hands on experience to support various HCM modules such as: HR Core, Benefits, Payroll, Commitment Accounting, Time Labor and Absence
  • 6+ years extensive experience in with PeopleTools 8.5x (Application designer, Application Engine, PeopleCode, Application Messaging, Integration Broker, Data Mover, Workflow and Approval Framework, Component Interface, etc.)
  • Experience with one or more of the following software and tools: SQL Developer, PS Query, SQR, COBOL, Oracle SQL, XML Publisher, nVision)
  • Experience in a higher education information technology environment
  • 5+ years of PeopleTools experience, current experience with version 8.57+

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Provide technical and functional expertise and support in an Oracle environment
  • Develop and maintain PeopleSoft applications, including performance tuning, troubleshooting, ongoing maintenance, and the resolution of system issues
  • Develop strong relationships with end users to effectively troubleshoot problems and recommend good solutions
  • Work with end users to define scope of business needs and translate processes from detailed functional requirements to technical design specifications
  • Design, code, and unit test complex projects
  • Develop and maintain integrations between PeopleSoft HCM and other applications
  • Identify developmental or design risks and action plans
  • Assist with system upgrades and prepare data mapping for conversion requirement
  • Acquire new skills and knowledge to stay at the forefront of information systems tools for PeopleSoft and software quality assurance
  • Ability to know and follow standard operating procedures


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

70%  Contribute independent subject matter expertise and execution of assigned tasks including:
  • Provide technical and consulting support for PeopleSoft applications within the Human Capital Management 9.2 system(s)
  • Responsible for the analysis, planning, design, development, testing, debugging, and production support of PeopleSoft applications
  • Responsible for full system life cycle support of PeopleSoft HCM and Portal including system design analysis, programming, testing, and production support
  • Work with the PeopleSoft SA/DBA on performance tuning, enhancements, maintenance patches, and production support. Interface with functional analysts as well as with technical resources (other developers, DBAs, PS Admin, Windows Admin, Security Admin, etc.) on enhancements and troubleshooting issues
  • Ability to work successfully in a team environment and possess the flexibility/adaptability to changing requirements

Additional Information

  • Position location will be discussed during the interview process. Location can be Fort Worth, TX or Richardson, TX.
  • Hybrid remote work environment available. A UT Dallas Remote Work Agreement is required upon employment. Must have the ability to be on Richardson campus with 48 hours of notice.
