The Office of Financial Aid is looking for a higher education professional with experience in Financial Aid or other Enrollment Management-related administration to fill our Director position. The Director provides management, leadership, support, and coordination for UT Dallas' Office of Financial Aid, specifically related to customer service, counseling, and communication regarding grants, scholarships, loans, exemptions, and wavers. Responsible for the compliant, accurate, and timely completion of critical tasks and processes including manual awarding and aid adjustments, document acknowledgment, subsequent/suspended ISIR review, scholarship processing and listing, and Office of Financial Aid scholarship applications.

Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree and 5 years of related progressive experience.



Preferred Education and Experience

  • Seven years of higher education administration experience within Financial Aid, Enrollment Management, or a related area
  • Five years of supervisory experience
  • Previous experience with student information systems such as PeopleSoft Campus Solutions, Banner, or WorkDay, and enterprise content management systems such as Hyland OnBase.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and update financial aid external communication plan, to include website, publications, FATV, ChatBOT, outgoing email notices and reminders, and catalog updates, and provide training for related UT Dallas offices, such as the Office of Admissions and other University scholarship offices.
  • Develop, maintain, and update financial aid counseling plan to ensure staff and resources are available and able to advise students effectively regarding  federal, state, and institutional financial resource programs, estimated costs, academic progress, eligibility, and procedures.
  • Manage the Satisfactory Academic Progress notification and appeal process; monitor academic plans and coordination with academic advising, SOAR, and/or applicable scholarship offices.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with UT Dallas directors in the Offices of Admissions, Enrollment Operations, and Registrar regarding University goals, external communications, and recruiting events/initiatives; coordinate with other University scholarship offices regarding scholarship deadlines, procedures and administration of university-controlled scholarships.
  • Manage the Office of Financial Aid Customer Service, Counseling, and Scholarship Processing Teams, including responsibility for hiring, training, setting team goals, and overseeing the employee review process.
  • Represent the University at recruiting events and outreach programs (e.g. high school fairs, open houses, orientations, workshops, freshman seminar presentations).
  • Serve as key member of the Office of Financial Aid leadership team, working regularly with the Senior Director of Financial Aid and other directors within the office to evaluate, plan and execute the overall direction for the office.
  • Act as a knowledgeable and collaborative representative of the Office of Financial Aid for other University departments.

Remote Work Notice
Following successful completion of an initial training period, a hybrid work schedule may be available, subject to business needs and departmental approval. Employee must be located within the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex area and have the ability to be on campus for work activities as scheduled and/or with 24-hour notice. Completion and approval of a UT Dallas Remote Work Agreement will be required, and use of personal computer, internet, and other standard equipment may be required. Remote work arrangements are subject to regular review and re-approval and may be cancelled.
