The Nguyen Lab is hiring a Postdoctoral Research Associate!
We are seeking a highly motivated scientist to join our NIH-funded research team studying the molecular mechanisms that drive epilepsy. Our lab, part of the Department of Neuroscience and the School of Behavioral and Brain Sciences at The University of Texas at Dallas, is dedicated to both basic and translational neuroscience. We focus on understanding brain development and how disruptions in intracellular signaling pathways lead to neurodevelopmental disorders, including cortical malformations and epilepsy.

The salary for Post-Doctoral Research Associates in BBS is determined by years of experience per the current NIH (NRSA) stipend levels. Salary will be dependent on experience and qualifications. This job is funded for 1 year with the possibility of renewal. Continued employment is contingent on the availability of funds.

Ph.D in a related field.

- Demonstrated ability to conduct independent research in neuroscience
- Strong background in in vivo mouse models, mouse surgery and behavioral procedures, mouse handling and colony management, histology, biochemical assays, and molecular biology techniques (including western blotting and RT-qPCR)
- Experience with electrophysiology, rodent EEG recordings, experimental seizure models, or computational techniques is highly desirable

- Conduct original, independent research related to funded projects under the guidance of the PI
- Prepare manuscripts and publish results in peer-reviewed journals
- Present research findings at conferences, workshops, and seminars
- Contribute to collaborative projects within and outside the lab
- Train and mentor students or junior lab members
- Foster a positive, supportive, and productive lab culture
- Perform other related duties as assigned

- Ability to independently design, conduct, and analyze original research
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Proficiency in a wide range of laboratory techniques and data analysis methods
- Competence with computer applications for recording, analyzing, and reporting findings
- Strong organizational and documentation skills
- Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, and students
- Commitment to research ethics, rigor, and reproducibility
