The Dispatch Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the dispatch function to ensure that Waste Pro delivers the highest level of customer service possible. Supervises Dispatchers through training, coaching, and mentoring.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

 

  1. Directly responsible for the supervision of Division Dispatchers and performance of daily operations.
  2. Establish and maintain a clean, safe work environment and ensure compliance with company policies.
  3. Share Decision Driving techniques and ensure that employees adhere to and are knowledgeable of Waste Pro safety guidelines. Reinforce daily safe work practices and assist with the delivery of weekly safety meetings
  4. Address all customer issues, complaints, and inquiries by speaking with the drive
  5. Responsible for training and development of new Dispatchers
  6. Monitor Dispatchers progress and identify training opportunities with Operations Manager, Office Manager and Division Manage
  7. Conduct performance evaluations, monitor and track employee attendance, complete disciplinary actions and attend meetings that apply positive leadership principles
  8. Drive performance and metrics with the Dispatch team. Assist with Dispatcher duties to cover shortages/sickness/vacations
  9. Maintain contact between drivers and home base, dispatching drivers to calls as they are received, using information on customer needs, drivers' locations and loads, and daily factors to balance cost and speed of response.
  10. Oversees assigning routes and service tickets to appropriate drivers throughout the day and for the next day; closes service tickets each day.
  11. Assist with planning, distributing, monitoring and following-up daily route assignments for residential, roll-off and commercial drivers to ensure customers are serviced per Waste Pro standards and agreements.
  12. Responsible for effectively communicating with both drivers and customers to ensure customer satisfaction and communicating service changes to Sales staff.
  13. Oversees the review of route paperwork, entering customer information to database, and closing work orders from previous day routes, paying close attention to detail, identifying, and correcting any issues.
  14. Responsible for maintaining all data in appropriate systems including the following: Verify all dump tickets have been received and entered Tower. Close tickets and note in Track EZ. Enter new drivers, truck and route data information in Tower. Enter "Crew Out" into Tower and provide to Supervisors.
  15. Responsible for distribution and maintenance of driver phones/radios -- including completion of software updates and charging phones every evening.
  16. Additional responsibilities may include uniform tracking, timecard review for Drivers, reconciliation of supervisor fuel tickets, and maintenance of PPE inventory. Ensures that supplies are on hand for necessary forms. Prepares Saturday work.

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • Associates Degree or its equivalent and a minimum of 5 years' experience with no less than 2 years supervisory experience.
  • Proficient in working on a PC, and competent in the use of Microsoft Office. Full proficiency in Excel, Outlook, and Word.
  • Ability to interact and communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Excellent organizational and customer service skills
