The Westchester Medical Center Health Network (WMCHealth) Center for Women's Health Equity is seeking a PA to support our growing maternal & fetal medicine practices throughout the Network. In this important role for the division and network, this PA will support our patients in the outpatient and ambulatory settings who receive high-risk prenatal and obstetrical care. This PA will work alongside our Chief of Maternal Fetal Medicine and our partners in cardiology and other sub-specialties to support the continual well-being of mother/baby. In this position, the PA will work alongside experienced physicians and Advanced Practice Providers (APP) colleagues medically managing a variety of high-risk obstetrical patients during both their intrapartum and postpartum courses, monitor maternal/fetal tests, and partner with our inpatient teams upon discharge for the follow through with our APP team in the Women's Health Equity practices.
Responsibilities:
- Performing medical evaluations, treatment, follow-up and consultations for complex obstetrical high-risk patients (i.e. new onset DM, IUGR etc.)
- Interpreting fetal heart tracings and performing obstetrical ultrasounds to assess fetal well-being.
- Medically triaging and managing outpatient/ambulatory MFM and OB acute matters, as well as standard pathway evaluations for intrapartum and postpartum care.
- Delivering direct patient care as part of a collaborative patient care team of MDs, sonographers, genetic counselors and consultative subspecialist teams.
Qualifications / Requirements:
- Candidates must be board certified as a physician assistant and possess or be eligible to obtain an applicable New York State license.
- Ideal candidates will have a minimum of one year of clinical experience, although highly motivated new graduates with interest and abilities in OB/GYN, MFM, or pediatric/cardiac subspecialty will be considered and are encouraged to apply.
- Must possess excellent communication skills and demonstrate an ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
