The Urology Inpatient Hospitalist Service is growing at WMCHealth in Valhalla, NY. We are seeking specialty-trained physician assistants (PAs) to join our inpatient nocturnal urology team. In this position, the PAs will work alongside experienced physicians and advanced practice provider (APP) colleagues to medically manage a variety of urological inpatients throughout the course of their hospital stay.
Responsibilities:
- Performing medical evaluations, treatment, follow-up and consultations for diverse urological adult traumas and acute care surgical patients.
- Medically triaging and managing inpatient urological acute matters, as well as standard pathway admissions.
- Delivering direct patient care as part of a collaborative patient care team.
- Gaining a working competency of procedures inclusive of, but not limited to, cystoscopy, cystostomy, as well as complicated CBI management.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Candidates must be board certified as a physician assistant and possess or be eligible to obtain an applicable New York State license.
- Ideal candidates will have a minimum of one (1) year of clinical experience, although highly motivated new graduates with interest in and abilities in urology or surgery/medicine subspecialties will be considered and encouraged to apply.
- Must possess excellent communication skills and demonstrate an ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
