Job Summary

We are looking for a per diem Registered Nurse to support our onsite clinic in Arkansas City, AR. 

 

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing direct patient care, emergency response, injury and illness management, medical surveillance, wellness initiatives, episodic convenience care and assisting with other occupational and environmental health services, as needed, while maintaining a professional and patient-centered approach in an occupational setting. 

 


Responsibilities

  • Provides medical care to clinic patients as requested/needed, and within the RN scope of practice, following treatment care guidelines set forth by the occupational health director. Employee encounters, wellness checks, obesity weigh-ins, blood pressure checks, etc.)
  • Assist providers on Injury & Illness management 
  • Assist providers in managing, coordinating, documentation of Workers Comp claims & communicates with Client's WC claims carrier as needed. 
  • Maintain Electronic Medical Record (EMR- Cority) and ensures complete & accurate documentation 
  • Performs regulatory testing including but not limited to: Respiratory medical evaluation, spirometry, audiometry, vision tests, urine test, EKG, immunizations, blood draws, stress test, MicroFit, heat stress
  • May perform First Aid, CPR, AED, and other training as necessary
  • Provides preventive health education to employees as needed within scope of practice.
  • Maintains clinic utilization reports 
  • Participates in general flow of clinic operations (answers phones, checks email, medical records, scheduling, filing, copying charts, traffic control).
  • Maintain clinic's medical & office supplies in collaboration with ancillary staff 
  • Maintains communication with the Clinic Medical Director, Account manager, Team Lead & client as necessary
  • Ensures that employees have appropriate return-to-work clearances.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a valid Arkansas RN license 
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing is highly preferred 
  • Must hold current BLS certification 
  • 3–5 years RN experience required 
  • 2-3 years' experience in a case management, urgent care, emergency department or occupational health setting preferred
  • Certification in Occupational Health, preferred
  • Case Management certification, preferred

  • Must be able to demonstrate the ability of maintaining privacy and confidentiality 
  • Critical thinking skills a must 
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions in accordance to company policy and procedures 
  • Take initiative on issues that arise daily 
  • Able to manage multiple priorities 
  • Must have the ability to maintain a professional approach with others in job-demanding, multitasking and/or project support situations 
  • Ability to create and edit written materials 
  • Ability to communicate effectively to a variety of audiences 
  • Have the skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities 
  • Ability to gather data, compile information and prepare reports 
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

 

Computer Skills

  • Must be competent in the Windows operating system environment, Adobe Professional, Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and learn other software as needed. Must be able to multi-task between multiple software programs. Must have excellent typing skills.

 

Physical Demands

  • Requires sitting for long periods of time, working at a desk. Some bending and stretching required. Working under stress and use of telephone required. Manual dexterity required for use of calculator and computer keyboard. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel and/or crouch.
  • The clinic staff at CWP Arkansas are required to respond to all emergencies onsite.
  • Requires being able to respond quickly, driving an ambulance, climbing stairs, lifting an emergency response bag, lifting and using other emergency equipment, lifting a stretcher with and without a patient on it, loading a patient into the ambulance, and riding in the back of the ambulance treating the patient en route to the hospital.
