The Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) Employee Wellness Specialist plays a pivotal role in supporting the overall well-being of WWP's workforce, with a specific emphasis on physical, emotional, financial, social, and mental wellness. This position is responsible for coordinating the operation and delivery of WWP's employee wellness program in close collaboration with internal stakeholders and external vendors. The Employee Wellness Specialist is also responsible for designing holistic wellness initiatives, in alignment with organizational goals, and implementing them across a multi-site, national footprint.


 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the operation and  delivery of WWP's employee wellness program across a multi-site, national footprint.

  • Develop and execute various health promotion campaigns, workshops, and events to raise awareness and educate employees on various aspects of well-being (i.e., physical, emotional, financial, social, mental, etc.).

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to integrate wellness initiatives into the overall employee experience and ensure alignment with organizational goals.

  • Collaborate with external partners (i.e., benefits carriers, broker, EAP), to develop and coordinate the delivery of programs that address stress management, resilience building, mindfulness, compassion fatigue, and mental health awareness.

  • Coordinate classes, workshops, and challenges to promote physical activity and healthy lifestyles.

  • Facilitate the organization wide delivery of content and resources that encourages healthy diets, nutrition, lifestyle choices, and preventative care.

  • Conduct regular assessments to identify employee needs and preferences, adjusting wellness initiatives accordingly.

  • Prepare regular reports on program engagement, event/campaign participation, participant satisfaction, and program outcomes.

  • Responsible for managing the administrative aspects of WWP's wellness program to include reconciling and delivering wellness incentives, processing vendor invoices, developing promotional content, and coordinating updates to the wellness platform.   

  • Other related duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE

Requirements

  • Three years of experience supporting the delivery of a corporate wellness program, OR any comparable combination of experience with health coaching, health education, or health promotion.

  • Strong understanding of health and well-being principles, to include but not limited to physical fitness, mental health, nutrition, emotional well-being, and financial wellness.

Preferences

  • Five years of experience supporting the delivery of a corporate wellness program OR any comparable combination of experience with health coaching, health education, or health promotion.

  • Prior experience working with healthcare providers or benefits brokers to facilitate delivery of wellness plans.

EDUCATION

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in health promotion, public health, or similar health science field.

Preferences

  • Master's degree in health promotion, public health, or similar health science field.

CERTIFICATIONS & LICENSURE

Requirements

  • None.

Preferences

  • Certification in wellness coaching, personal training, or related area (e.g., mental health, nutrition, etc.).

WORK ENVIRONMENTPHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • General office environment; temperature controlled.

  • Sitting for extended periods.

  • May participate in physically demanding activities under varying conditions, such as indoor/outdoor/virtual workouts.

  • May require lifting/carrying items up to 25 pounds.

  • Up to 10% travel.
