THE ROLE: 

As an IC CAD Engineer you will be responsible for supporting physical verification and macro design construction in a custom design environment at AMD. You will work with senior CAD team members to verify existing setups for new technology enablement, improve current setups for a better user experience, and provide user support to meet design deliverable schedules. You will also be involved in evaluating and implementing new tool features. Your role will be pivotal in enhancing the efficiency and reliability of our custom CAD flows.

 

THE PERSON: 

You have a passion for modern, complex processor architecture, custom design, and verification in general. You are a team player with excellent communication skills and experience collaborating with engineers located across different sites and time zones. You possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, are eager to learn, and ready to tackle challenges. You are passionate about improving processes and user experience through AI integration.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Set up and verify physical verification and macro construction tools/flows
  • Maintain and improve physical verification and macro construction processes across multiple technology nodes
  • Build regression testbenches to maintain CAD tool and flow quality
  • Provide technical support and training to users across multiple sites
  • Enhance overall user usage and experience through AI agent integration 

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 

  • Experience with Calibre or any equivalent vendor tool
  • Experience with Virtuoso or any equivalent vendor tool
  • Fluent in programming languages like Perl, Python, Tcl, Cadence SKILL 

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: 

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer engineering or electrical engineering
