Because this role involves a combination of collaborative/in-person and independent work, it will take the form of a hybrid work format, with time split between working onsite and remotely.
As part of our Closed Area Infrastructure team, you will help engineer and implement the IT infrastructure and standards supporting our closed areas, and keep critical information and infrastructure secure. We are looking for an experienced Senior UNIX/Linux Systems Administrator to add their skills to our team of diverse, driven and highly capable IT professionals.
In this role, you will:
- Act as a primary contributor in the deployment and implementation of Closed Area Unix/Linux solutions and other standards
- Serve as subject matter expert in one or more areas of Closed Area standard deployments; train and mentor other team members
- Build, configure, and deploy Linux servers and workstation hardware and software including authentication, file-share, and other services to support groups of heterogeneous client systems.
- Document system configuration for new and existing systems
- Serve as 2nd/3nd level escalation support for operational systems.
- Work closely with other team members and teams across a wide range of disciplines.
- Effectively and regularly communicate status and provide feedback.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- 4-8+ years of experience
- CompTIA Security+ or equivalent certification within 6 months of hire
- Active Secret clearance, or eligibility and willingness to obtain within 12 months of hire
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Extensive experience in Linux server and desktop operating systems (Red Hat/Ubuntu)
- Experience with infrastructure support services (DNS, NIS, Microsoft Active Directory, Centrify/One Identity SAS/Beyond Trust PowerBroker Identity Services, Splunk, etc.)
- Working knowledge of networking concepts such as the OSI model, DNS, DHCP, CIDR.
- Occasional off-hour response to outages and subsequent service restoration efforts is required
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
- One or more OS certification (Linux+, RHCSA, RHCE, etc.)
- Experience with Enterprise-Level automation and scripting (Ansible, Bash, Python, Perl, etc.)
- Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware VCenter Server, QEMU/LibVirt, Hyper V, etc.)
- Familiarity with Unix operating systems (Solaris), Windows server and desktop operating systems, and interoperability with Linux
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and move into positions either standing or kneeling when required to connect computing equipment for use
