Job Overview

The HRIS Specialist is a key member of Bob's Human Resources Operations team, supporting the execution and maintenance of Workday processes across HCM, Recruiting, Compensation, Talent and Performance, and Learning. This role serves as the first point of contact (Tier 1) for HRIS-related inquiries, issue resolution, and end-user support—ensuring data integrity, process accuracy, and seamless daily operations within Workday.

This is a hybrid position based at Bob's Headquarters in Manchester, CT, with two on-site days each week and three remote days. Collaboration with HR partners and cross-functional teams is frequent, primarily through Workday Help, email, and Microsoft Teams.

Competencies & Expertise

Technical & Functional Skills

  • Tier 1 HRIS support experience responding to inquiries, troubleshooting errors, and resolving issues in Workday.
  • Proficiency in Workday HCM data management, including employee record updates, security access management, and business process monitoring.
  • Experience with Workday Help case management, data audits, basic EIB uploads, and performing transactional processing.
  • Ability to leverage Workday reports to extract, analyze, and deliver data to HR partners.
  • Familiarity with Workday configuration concepts, supervisory organizations, roles, reporting, dashboards, and testing (UAT and sandbox).
  • Strong Microsoft Office 365 skills, including Excel (formulas, VLOOKUPs, pivot tables).

Analytical & Process Improvement Skills

  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to spot data inaccuracies and inconsistencies.
  • Ability to recognize process gaps or recurring issues and escalate when appropriate.
  • Analytical mindset with a focus on process efficiency and continuous improvement.

Communication & Customer Support Skills

  • Strong customer service orientation with accountability for resolving end-user issues.
  • Clear, professional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to guide users through Workday processes with patience and clarity.
  • Demonstrated judgment and discretion when handling confidential information.

Organizational & Execution Skills

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with adaptability to shifting demands.
  • Consistent follow-through ensuring timely and accurate completion of tasks.

Preferred Competencies & Skills

  • Direct experience in Workday system administration.
  • Exposure to Tier 2 HRIS support or configuration work.
  • Ability to independently troubleshoot using Workday Community and other resources.
  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of Workday experience in HCM data management, issue resolution, and end-user support.
  • Experience performing Workday data audits and managing transactions.
  • Comfort working with Workday security, business processes, and reporting.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide timely and accurate customer support.
  • Experience handling multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods, communicate effectively, and operate a computer and telephone.
  • Regular, predictable attendance is essential.

Expected Hours & Work Schedule

  • Full-time, Monday–Friday (40 hours/week)
  • Flexible daytime hours, including 9:00am–3:00pm ET
  • Occasional minimal overtime may be required
