Methodist Hospital Northlake
Hours: This position is full time, 40 hours per week with scheduled rotating day and evening shifts and includes an every other weekend rotation.
As a full time, nonexempt Pharmacy Technician with Comprehensive Pharmacy Services (CPS) at Methodist Hospital Northlake in Gary, you will assist in various pharmacy activities, under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, and other duties not requiring the review of a pharmacist. The majority of tasks and responsibilities are related to preparing, dispensing, and distributing medications. Other duties include maintaining patient records, and setting up, packaging, and labeling of medication doses and billing. You will perform job duties under minimal supervision within pharmacy standards, written procedures and guidelines, and state regulatory requirements. You will be responsible for the accurate completion of daily activities and the follow through of tasks to ensure completion. Based upon business needs, you may be scheduled to work at the Southlake campus in Merrillville as well.
- High School Diploma or GED
- Recent experience in a hospital or retail pharmacy
- IN Pharmacy Technician license is required, PTCB is preferred
- Proficient computer skills including experience using Microsoft Office
- Effective communications skills; verbal and written
