Pharmacy Technician - Part Time

Hours: This position is scheduled to work 25-29 hours per week, a combination of rotating 8 hour day and evening shifts, and includes working every other weekend.
As a part time Pharmacy Technician with Comprehensive Pharmacy Services (CPS) at Mercy Hospital and Medical Center, you'll assist in various pharmacy activities, under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, and other duties not requiring the review of a pharmacist. The majority of tasks and responsibilities are related to preparing, dispensing, and distributing medications. Other duties include maintaining patient records, and setting up, packaging, and labeling of medication doses and billing. You will perform job duties under minimal supervision within pharmacy standards, written procedures and guidelines, and state regulatory requirements. You will be responsible for the accurate completion of daily activities and the follow through of tasks to ensure completion. We are willing to train experienced Pharmacy Technicians the skills to work in an inpatient hospital setting for this position.
- IL pharmacy technician license & PTCB both are required
- 1 year of recent Pharmacy Technician experience
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
About the Facility: Located in downtown Chicago near public transportation and freeways, Mercy is known for a number of distinguished programs including cardiology, labor and delivery, urology, and diabetes. The Mercy inpatient pharmacy is open 24/7 and is a stand-alone pharmacy with a hybrid centralized/decentralized staffing model and is supported by centralized and decentralized automation products. Management of the pharmacy is outsourced to CPS.
