Speech Language Pathologist - Part Time

As a part time (20-24 hours/week), nonexempt Speech Language Pathologist for Sturgis Hospital's Rehabilitation Department, you are responsible for administration and direct application of Speech-Language pathology treatment modalities as prescribed by a referring physician. Duties include evaluating, planning, directing, and treating all patients referred to Speech-Language Pathology. In this role you will perform Modified Barium Swallows for adults as well as assist patients to obtain maximum performance and function in society while learning to live a routine “normal” life within constraints of their disability.
Schedule: This part time, nonexempt position will work between 20-24 hours per week, or 3 days per week. Rehabilitation Department hours are Monday - Thursday from 8:00am-6:30pm, Friday from 8:00am-4:30pm, and weekends on a patient need basis.
About the Facility: Sturgis Hospital is a 84-bed licensed, acute care facility. Nearly 40 active medical staff members, available within the Sturgis and surrounding communities, represent a wide variety of specialties including Anesthesiology, Family Practice, General Surgery, Gynecology, Internal Medicine, Obstetrics, Ophthalmology, Orthopaedics, Pathology, Pediatrics, Podiatry, Radiology, Urology and Vascular Surgery. Additional specialties are offered through the Hospital's Courtesy, Consulting and Affiliate Medical Staff. These services include Cardiology, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Oncology, and Pulmonary medicine. Sturgis, Michigan is centrally located between Chicago, IL and Toledo, OH (both roughly 2 hours), and between Lake Michigan and Lake Erie. Comprehensive Pharmacy Services (CPS) has partnered with the hospital through our division, CPS Rehabilitation Services, to manage the day-to-day operations of this department. This position is an employee of CPS.
About the Rehab Department: Hours of operation are Monday through Thursday from 8:00am-6:30pm, Friday from 8:00am-4:30pm, and weekends on a patient need basis.
- Master's degree from an accredited college in Speech-Language Pathology
- Current Michigan Speech Language Pathologist license in good standing
- Current BCLS certification
- Preference will be given to those with Specialty Certifications
- 1+ year of experience in pediatrics and outpatient setting preferred
- (PPD) TB Skin Test - Proof of negative TB skin test within the last 12 months
- (MMR) Measles, Mumps and Rubella or A Blood Titer proving immunity
- Varicella - (2) documented doses or A Blood Titer proving immunity
