  • Training in Government sector or as a contractor with Health and Human Services or Workforce.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • The Director of Staff Development is responsible for managing and supporting the training needs of the organization by designing, implementing, and evaluating programs that facilitate continuous learning of all employees.
  • Provide overall strategic training leadership to the organization, with the Chief of Staff and General Counsel to define Training goals and objectives and to ensure our training processes allow us to fully leverage the skills and talents of our people.
  • In consultation with organization leadership, design, develop and implement a leadership development program.
  • Develops metrics to assess the quality, satisfaction, and validate knowledge transfer and return on investment of training programs.
  • Establish and maintain individual and organizational performance evaluation methods for learning content, delivery, activities, engagement, and outcomes.
  • Communicates adherence and status of new hire and annual training plans and provide monthly updates.
  • Support ongoing development of future leaders through a combination of succession planning, career development, leadership training and mentoring activities.
  • Manages the tracking of the organizational training programs for all employees including staff and training programs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required, from an accredited College or University in Adult Learning, Psychology, Human Resources, or related field PHR or SPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP Certifications with significant course work in learning is preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in human resources or corporate training is required.
  • Ability to effectively communicate both written and verbal; to assume responsibility without direct supervision; to exercise initiative, judgment, decision making, and flexibility; to listen empathetically, and to prioritize workload. Demonstrated proficient in using Microsoft Office applications or online database tracking systems, SharePoint and Eckerd U/ADP software and ability to learn new software programs.  Blended training experience including classroom, coaching, mentoring and technology-based learning.  Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to think strategically.  Comfortable managing complicated situations, showing a high level of professional maturity, resiliency and adaptability.  Ability to develop strong, respectful relationships, to inspire confidence and build trust.  Capable of functioning at a fast pace and maintain accuracy and organization while doing so.
  • Must have appropriate and valid state driver's license and be able to meet requirements for Eckerd's Auto Insurance and be able to drive for business purposes. Must be able to travel up to 50-75%.
