Possesses strong mechanical/electrical aptitude and skills.
Has the ability to use hand tools, follow written and verbal instructions.

Operates, repairs, tests, troubleshoots, adjusts and/or installs bench and on-line, portable process gas / liquid chromatograph equipment used in the natural gas industry.
Performs mechanical functions and duties of inspecting, checking, troubleshooting, repairing, and replacing all mechanical equipment in order to maintain high levels of safe and productive equipment performance.
Properly completes records of time and required regulatory reports.
Maintains close contact with the supervisor regarding maintenance trouble reports and scheduled equipment maintenance to affect a minimum interruption of product throughout.
Optimizes work to affect a minimal amount of overtime.
Participates in available cross training to effectively develop skills in areas specific to other technicians.
Attends all safety meetings and safety training courses as required by regulatory agencies.
Properly collects gas and NGL samples
Installs, operates and maintains gas and liquid sampling and sample conditioning systems.
Acquires information on site using stain tubes or electronic devices for obtaining H2S, CO2, O2, water content and nitrogen.
Schedules, completes and witnesses chromatograph test.
Develops and maintains chromatograph test schedules.
Installs equipment from drawings, schematics and manufacturer's manuals.
Troubleshoots and rectifies equipment failures using voltmeters and test equipment.
Plans, schedules and coordinates work with other departments to ensure timely completion of equipment installation and repair.
Operates appropriate PC software.
Improves the reliability of the gas chromatographs currently in use at the plants and on the pipeline system.
Routinely reviews procedures to achieve positive performance.
Ensures compliance of all Company and industry standards to meet the requirements of all regulatory agencies.
The successful candidate will meet the following qualifications:
A minimum of a high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is required.
An Associate's degree in a technical field, such as: Chemistry, Gas Measurement, Electronics, etc. is preferred.
A minimum of 7+ years' work experience in the natural gas industry is preferred.
An advanced level of knowledge in gas measurement is required.
A valid driver's license with acceptable driving record is required.
Ability to follow written or spoken instructions; understand equipment repair manuals; and Federal, state and local codes and regulations is required.
General knowledge in the field of electronics, natural gas chemistry, gas chromatograph, operations, applications, equipment and servicing methods is required.
The ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, such as, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical solutions is required.
Basic computer skills such as: opening, creating and updating content in MS Word documents and Excel spreadsheets are required.
Ability to assume responsibility, be flexible, perform duties and handle multiple tasks under potentially stressful and/or hazardous conditions is required.
The ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, with other individuals, teams, customers, and stakeholders of the business, at various levels of the organization, in a business-like and professional manner is required.
The ability to modify communication style in order to influence, persuade, negotiate, and engage all parties according to the audience and circumstance is required.

Must be able to regularly bend, stoop, move from ground level to higher levels, raise/lift from ground level and lift up to 50 lbs., manually transport a load up to 75 lbs. and apply up to 100 foot pounds of torque.
Must have ability to get in and out of vehicles regularly and ride over rough roads.
Must wear special safety equipment while working and must be able to lift and put on emergency breathing apparatus and/or protective equipment.
The ability to take call-outs and work overtime is required.
