Job Description

We are hiring for our site in Venray (the Netherlands) a Business Development Director who will provide leadership in planning and then implementing market and customer penetration strategies for Flex Global Services and Solutions in Europe, specializing in the area of Forward Logistics across the EMEA region. Also, will be responsible of cultivating and capturing new business opportunities that enable Flex to exceed revenue, growth and profit expectations; will strategically develop and manage all account activities for multiple customers by engaging with our internal and external clients to expand a pipeline of opportunities for growth.

The Business Development Director will work in close collaboration with our Services Solutions support team in order to build fully costed Solutions or pro-active proposals which bring value to our clients while meeting Flex business objectives. Will be proficient in delivering general overviews of all Flex GSS solutions, whilst specializing in the development of logistics opportunities to include VMI hubbing, Fulfilment, Late Customization, B2C / E-Commerce fulfilment and Transportation Management solutions.

Here is a glimpse of what you'll do:

  • Utilize customer, competitive and market intelligence to develop sales and account penetration strategy to penetrate new target customer;
  • Understand the breadth and depth of Flex capabilities to develop proactive solutions or response to proposal which differentiates Flex and enables the customer to address key issues and/or drive top line growth;
  • Create and drive personal pipeline in line with overall GSS strategy and play a lead role in devising strategies to promote Flex;
  • Shaping propositions to meet client requirements working alongside Regional VP's, Solution Architects and Operations;
  • Understand the customer's organization, products, market position, goals and objectives, sourcing strategy, suppliers, manufacturing locations, competition and future directions;
  • Own and drive the execution of the account strategy to close business;
  • Pipeline development, management, contract negotiation and approval process;
  • Establish and develop customer relationships to position Flex for long term growth;
  • Collaboratively establish effective communication process with Account Manager and execution teams to ensure clearly defined customer expectations and contractual obligations;
  • Provide a summary of the deal, and review with the key stakeholders (site(s), GAM/AMs, SSCMs) including key MSA terms, service level agreements and any other relevant contractual information;
  • Frequently participate in QBRs and reviews CSAT scores and provides perspectives/perception (customer and personal) on performance.

Here is some of what you'll need:

  • Degree level qualified in a relevant business or technical qualification;
  • Minimum 5 years of demonstrable Logistics experience;
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Services Sales;
  • Fluent written and spoken English;
  • Deep knowledge of EMEA Logistics Solutions and attuned to market dynamics, trade law and cost fluctuations which may be affecting Supply Chains in the region;
  • Outstanding vision, foresight and determination; strong leadership and persuasion skills ;
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to develop effective networks and relations;
  • Experience leading and closing deals exceeding $5M in annual revenue;
  • Creative and innovative approach, gravitates to lead senior management level business meetings;
  • Understanding of Flex capabilities, solutions and services regardless of segment and/or ability to leverage subject matter experts;
  • Ownership & accountability.
